Abstract:

The report examines the topic of the so-called “green deal” of the European Union, which has been extremely relevant in recent years and its influence on the activities of gas distribution companies. The European Green Deal presents and expresses Europe’s ambition to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. It is an industrial strategy for a competitive, green and digital Europe, which sets itself the ambitious goals of “climate neutrality”, i.e. is achieving a state of balance between greenhouse gas emissions that are released into the atmosphere and those that are removed from it through special technologies. In this way, many companies reduce their “carbon footprint” and work to protect the environment and the ecological balance. EU regulations in this direction aim to create opportunities for economic growth through the development of new technologies. It is of key importance whether the business will be able to meet the set goals and continue to 84 develop sustainably. The purpose of the report is to examine the parameters of the green deal, the regulations that guide the activity and the impact of the set goals on the gas distribution companies – what should be changed in management to achieve sustainable development.
